A significant and spacious temple dedicated to Lord Narayan (Vishnu) and Goddess Laxmi, tied to the Peshwa lineage.
Information
The temple features a large stone courtyard and a traditional Konkani deepmala (lamp tower). The inner sanctum houses beautifully ornamented idols. It is one of the most active temples in Shrivardhan, hosting daily discourses and classical music sessions during festivals.
Historical Reference
The temple holds special significance as it was patronized by the Bhat family. Balaji Vishwanath Bhat, before becoming the first Peshwa, was a local Deshmukh (revenue official) in Shrivardhan, and this temple was closely associated with his family's early religious life.
