A scenic terminal at the mouth of the Bankot Creek, connecting the Raigad and Ratnagiri districts.
Information
Bagmandla is located at the edge of the Raigad district. It is the primary boarding point for the ferry that crosses the Savitri River to reach Vesavi and the Bankot Fort in Ratnagiri. The area is surrounded by thick plantations of betel nuts and coconuts, offering a very traditional Konkani atmosphere.
Historical Reference
Bagmandla is steeped in Peshwa history. It was the original home of the Bhat family (the Peshwas). The port served as an important maritime link between the Peshwa's administrative centers and their ancestral lands across the river.
